The NTTC has also reviewed over seven hundred pieces of federally developed software. The Software Reviews that have been performed involve developing technical descriptions as well as identifying: the technology's novelty, stage of development, value to our client or the US Government, what intellectual property action is warranted, and whether the software is reliant on any third-party software. Software Reviews, as is the case with Technology Assessments, culminate in a recommendation for next steps that include IP protection.
